Rebuilding a stalled platform into a restaurant operating system
A multi-brand operator came to us after other teams couldn't deliver. We rebuilt the platform for multi-tenancy and shipped more than was asked.

The challenge
A multi-brand restaurant operator had a platform that previous teams could not get over the line. Features were half-built, the system was not truly multi-tenant, and it could not scale to new brands and locations safely.
Our approach
Instead of patching, we re-architected the platform for true multi-tenancy: an org tree of parent and child brands, enforced data isolation at the application layer, scoped RBAC and IDOR-hardened endpoints. We staffed it with senior platform, AI and data engineers and shipped in tight, reviewed increments.
What we built
One platform across four integrated surfaces, sharing a single auth layer and database:
- Storefront: a branded, installable ordering app (web + iOS / Android) with delivery, pickup, scheduled orders, loyalty and live tracking.
- KDS: a kitchen display system with station routing, a Cook/Done flow, and label and ticket printing.
- CRM and back office: menus, orders, staff, promotions, reporting on a medallion data warehouse, billing and security.
- AI Copilot: a natural-language analyst that answers business questions and surfaces anomalies and recommendations.
The outcome
ChefBites runs in production today as a multi-tenant restaurant operating system, with a white-label franchise engine, per-tenant payments and built-in SaaS billing. We delivered everything the client asked for, plus a built-in AI analyst they did not expect. The platform we built became the foundation of our product, Sentient Serve.
