The challenge
Running NFT hydroponics by hand means constant checks on temperature, humidity, pH, EC and pumps, with no single view of the system and no easy way to update controllers in the field.
Our approach
We built the full stack: ESP32 firmware on the rig, a secure cloud that ingests telemetry over MQTT, and a real-time dashboard. Each device gets isolated data and its own journal, and firmware can be pushed over the air.
What we built
An end-to-end control platform:
- A live digital twin that mirrors every channel, pump, fan and sensor in real time.
- An AI grow assistant that reads live data and history to diagnose issues and suggest actions.
- Multi-device, multi-tier control with crop recipes for pH, EC, light and climate.
- Wireless OTA firmware updates, plus charts, harvest tracking and energy cost per gram.
The outcome
Sentient Grow runs on real vertical farms, turning a manual, guess-based routine into a monitored, automated and data-driven operation that an operator can run from a phone.
